Swingtime 2000 - A Great Big Band TM is not simply a group of good musicians assembled for jobs. Loyal band members love big band music. They were hand-picked for playing ability and a strong desire to work with others harmoniously as a team. The band is a cohesive ensemble that is highly-motivated. Members enjoy rehearsing on a regular basis to maintain a clean, "swinging" performance sound.
Swingtime 2000 - A Great Big Band TM emphasizes the swing and ballad styles of big bands, appealing to jazz-lovers and dancers alike. The music is carefully molded into the band's own, distinctive style of performance that people of all ages can enjoy. Musical selections have recognizable melodies and allow opportunities for individuals to solo within the framework of melodic dance arrangements. The band library is continually growing and currently contains approximately 200 carefully-selected arrangements of popular songs from the 1930's, right up to the 1990's. Swinging styles include some of the popular big bands like Les Brown, Harry James, and Count Basie with additional styles such as blues, waltz, Latin, and a little rock.

To foster interest, the band maintains contact with other big bands worldwide through the Internet and World Wide Web. The band enthusiastically supports other musicians and musical groups, as well as music education.
